Downingtown Station is both a commuter rail station and also a stop on Amtrak´s Keystone Corridor Line. Dowingtown is located 33 miles west of Philadelphia. While technically a platform, and not a station, it is a busy point of transit: 50,255 passengers board and alight there annually, and the original station was built in 1800s by the Pennsylvania Railroad. After a fire destroyed the station in the 1990s, it was reconstructed and the foundation from the old station is still visible. And for the history buff, it is worth noting that President Lincoln's funeral train passed through Downingtown.

Downingtown station is also a stop on the SEPTA's R5 Thorndale service, and Krapf Transit Route "A". Amtrak's Keystone Service runs between New York City and Harrisburg by way of Philadelphia and the Pennsylvanian, which also stops daily, travels daily between New York City and Pittsburgh.

There is no ticket office at this station, so passengers must buy their tickets on board or in advance. There are 362 parking spaces at the station and local busses also stop there.
