Situated in the middle of downtown Staples, Minnesota, just west of Hayden Lake, the Amtrak Station Staples (SPL) is a 100-year old train station listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The station was built in 1909 by the Northern Pacific Railway, and much of it remains in its original Classic Revival condition.

Located along the Empire Builder Amtrak Line, which stretches from Seattle to Chicago, the Amtrak Station Staples is seated between the Detroit Lakes and St. Cloud Amtrak Stations. Ridership has recently grown at the station, with over 8,600 passengers utilizing the station in 2008, up 49% from 2007.

The Amtrak Station Staples can be found at the corner of First Avenue and Fourth Street in downtown Staples, Minnesota. On-site parking is available to passengers free of charge, and the station is within easy walking distance of a number of restaurants.
