Built in 1936, Historic Anchorage City Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and served as the first seat of government for the city, housing the entirety of Anchorage’s municipal services in a single two-story building at one time. The building would later serve as an office of the Alaska Pacific Bank Corporation, and today is home to the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB). Located at 524 W. Fourth Avenue, Historic Anchorage City Hall is within easy walking distance of the William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center, Alaska’s largest convention center, as well as numerous other attractions including Town Square Park, the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, the Kimball Building, and the Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) Log Cabin Visitor Information Center.
