In 1992, the Anchorage Market & Festival was first established as the Anchorage Downtown Saturday Market, consisting of barely 20 vendors selling Alaska fresh-grown produce. Today, the Anchorage, Alaska market consists of more than 400 vendors and 314 booths offering a wide array of products, ranging from arts and crafts to furs to jewelry to produce. It also includes continued entertainment during its 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. operating hours, showcasing performers on both a center stage and mixed within the crowd. The Anchorage Market & Festival is a wonderful way to spend a weekend afternoon for locals and also quite the attraction for tourists. Centrally located, the Anchorage Market & Festival charges no admission fee and is open on Saturdays and Sundays from May to September each year.
