The Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is dedicated to all things ballooning. The museum presents the history of the hot air balloon via scientific, historic and artistic objects donated from ballooning enthusiasts and individuals from throughout the world. The museum also holds more than fifty gondolas accompanied by complete balloon systems. There are French wicker baskets from the 1880’s, a World War I observation balloon, Steve Fossett’s hyperbaric chamber used for training for his solo around the world flight in 2002, and a collection of scientific instruments and navigation tools. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9AM to 5PM.
