Located at 2118 Massachusetts Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.'s Dupont Circle neighborhood, the Anderson House is the national headquarters of the Society of the Cincinnati, a historical interest organization dating back to 1783 operating in France and the US. The Society of the Cincinnati was established to preserve the ideals of the Revolutionary War and to help guarantee the fulfillment of many promises made to officers who fought in the conflict on behalf of the newly independent nation.

The Anderson House was the personal residence of Larz Anderson III, an eminent member of the society and former US Ambassador to Belgium and Japan during the early 20th century; the house was deeded to the society after his death by his widow, and became its headquarters shortly thereafter. The home is one of the best remaining examples of turn of the century palatial homes in the city, and it is frequently used for receptions and other events by the US State Department and other bodies.
