The Angers Golf course is found in the middle of 50 hectares at St John of Mauvrets in Angers in France. It has eighteen holes and is open all year round.

Château d'Angers is a fortress surrounded by a wall running for a kilometer and having 17 round towers. While there you can take a tour of the ramparts, prison, windmill tower, the royal apartments, the 15th century chapel and the courtyard. But the main attraction here is the Tapestry of the Apocalypse which is 100m long woven in the 14th century for Duke Réné of Anjou.

The Cathédrale St-Maurice goes back to the 12th century its main tower being built ion the 16th century. There are statues on the portal which include those of David with the harp and the Queen of Sheba. The stained glass windows from the 12th to the 16th centuries are very famous. The oldest one shows St. Vincent’s martyrdom. Tours are normally available in English as well as French and Italian.

The Musée Jean Lurçat is the most fascinating museum of Angers housed in the Ancien Hôpital St-Jean which was setup in 1174 to care for the sick. The museum is well known for its famous tapestry designed by Jean Lurçat, The Song of the World or Le Chant du Monde which was executed in 10 panels from 1957 to 1966. You can also see the earthen jars on the wooden shelves of the 17th century dispensary including a pewter vessel which once held an antidote for a snake bite.
