Named after a famous local environmentalist, The Anne Kolb Nature Center provides nature lovers with an exciting retreat from city living. One of the many smaller nature centers within the gigantic West Lake Park, which takes up almost 2,000 acres of south Florida, there are a number of activities available to visitors.

For those independently minded travelers, going out for a solo hike and doing some nature-watching is as easy as hitting one of the trails. Whether it's a world of exotic birds such as osprey, peregrine falcons, and ibises, or the exciting mangrove wetlands, the park truly is a whole other world.

For those less interested in trekking through wetlands by foot, there's an extensive boardwalk for walks around the grove. Bike paths also exist, and it's easy to rent a canoe and hit the water that way, too. For travelers more interested in tours, pontoon boats head out daily, and there are also guided canoe trips, too.

Open daily until night falls, The Anne Kolb Nature Center is open year-round, though tour hours vary with the seasons. The nature center is near to many of the hotels in Hollywood, including The Ocean Inn Hollywood, The Marriott Hollywood Beach Hotel and Spa, and The Silver Spray Motel.
