One of the best parks in the whole city is Antrim Park, located close to downtown in the northwest part of town. Over 100 acres of green space means the chance to lose yourself in nature, even while you're technically right in the center of a bustling city.

Antrim Park provides a number of different activities for people of all ages. Children love playing over at the park's moderately sized playground. A number of athletic groups, as well as people in search of a game of pick-up ball, can be found over at the basketball court, or on the athletic fields. There are fields for soccer and football, and it's not uncommon to see games of rugby or cricket taking place, either. There are even tennis courts.

For travelers or locals who want to stretch their legs and get active, there's no better place than on the park's numerous trails, which go around the pond, as well as through the woods and the wildlife area. There's access to The Greenway Trail, which is an even more exciting walk that takes you closer to nature than the simple nature trails that wind their way through the park's 100 acres.

Bicyclists will be thrilled to try out The Olentangy Bike Trail, which runs along the western side of the lake before branching off on a two and a half mile twisting turning adventure around the park. It's even possible, thanks to the river and the lake, to try your hand at some fishing, depending on the time of year.

Antrim Park is open during daylight hours year round. It's moderately close to a number of Columbus hotels, including The Worthington Inn, The Holiday Inn Columbus, and The Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center.
