The Aquarium of the Pacific is located on Rainbow Harbor and opened in 1998. Focusing on several different areas of the world’s largest ocean, the aquarium has a southern California section, a tropical section and another representing the cold northern Pacific waters. One of the most popular exhibits is the Shark Lagoon, where visitors can touch live sharks and rays in the water.

The aquarium is open from 9 am to 6 pm every day of the year. Tickets are available in the box office or with a discount of $5 when purchased online. Tickets are $24 for adults, $21 for seniors and $12 for children 3-11. Certain attractions like the shark exhibit or the harbor tour and area cruise will cost extra. Parking at the aquarium facility nearby on Shoreline Drive and Chestnut Place costs $7.
