The Arabia Steamboat Museum, in Kansas City, Missouri, is home to a side wheeler steamboat that was sojourning up the Missouri River in 1856 and hit a tree snag, which caused it to sink, just north of the city. Today, that steamboat has been recovered with all its 200 tons of cargo which was meant for general stores and pioneer settlements back in the day. Visitors can go to the museum to see the salvaged Arabia in all her glory. Besides the intact treasure, the collection includes other steamboat artifacts from that period of time. The museum offers tours every 30 minutes. Its opening hours are Monday-Saturday from 10am- 5:30pm and Sundays from noon till 5pm. The last tour starts at 4pm from Monday-Saturday. General admission is $12.50; seniors over 60 cost $11.50 while children cost $4.75.
