The Arboretum in Lexington is located at the University of Kentucky and includes many different varieties of gardens and collections including an herb garden, vegetable garden, perennial collection and home fruit and nuts garden among many others. The Arboretum was created in 1991 and is open to the public every day of the year, from dawn to dusk.

The Arboretum features 100 acres of plant species and was created as a joint effort between the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and the University of Kentucky. Visitors are welcome to walk through the gardens on their own or enjoy a tour led by Arboretum docents.
