Far from a typical museum, the Museum for Youth offers different classes and events of a wide variety of sorts, intended to be interactive methods for parents to deepen their bonds with children and to stimulate their kids to be active and curious about their surroundings.

The Arizona Museum for Youth collaborates with various local and national artists to furnish unique classes for kids and parents to experience together, or just for kids in other cases. As of late 2009, a random smattering of events includes a weaving pattern design class, a visual arts class, a kids' movie night, an exhibition/class relating to the Mexican tradition of celebrating the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), and a cookie baking event. Many classes are included with the admission fee to the museum, while others are charged separately. Museum hours of operation are 10am-4pm from Tuesday through Saturday, and 12pm-4pm on Sunday; admission fees are set at $6.50 per person above 1 year of age, and groups pay a special $5 fee per person.
