Originally known as the Mesa Southwest Museum, the Arizona Museum of Natural History was established in 1977 and is located at 53 North MacDonald Street in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona. In total, the museum currently boasts a collection of over 50,000 items relating to natural history, largely extracted from the surrounding desert landscapes, with many exhibits relating to dinosaurs as well as the ancient Native American cultures, with the Hohokam Classic Period being a chief example.

The Arizona Museum of Natural History is open to visits from the public between the hours of 10am-5pm from Tuesdays through Fridays, from 11am-5pm on Saturdays and from 1pm-5pm on Sundays, being closed on all holidays and Mondays. The price of admission is set at $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $6 for children.
