Snuggled within the greater Heritage and Science Park of downtown Phoenix, Arizona, the Arizona Science Center is located at 600 East Washington Street. The Arizona Science Center is focused on raising the public's awareness of and knowledge about science in general, and includes some 350+ permanent exhibits, many of which are interactive (not counting the many traveling exhibits that pass through the Arizona Science Center).

Established in 1980 as a science undertaking of the Phoenix Junior League, the Arizona Science Center opened to the public as a non-profit in 1984, and in 1997 after many years of expansion it was relocated to its present downtown facility, which includes its own IMAX Theater, a planetarium, various multimedia centers, dining facilities, a gift shop, and generally over 40,000 square feet of display space. Among the most popular permanent exhibits are "The World around You," "Fab Lab," and "Many Hands Make a Home."

The Arizona Science Center is open to visitors during the hours of 10am-5pm daily except for Thanksgiving and Christmas days. The price of admission is set at $12 for adults and $10 for children, and entrance to the IMAX and the planetarium are charged separately.
