Eaglehawk Neck is a popular tourist destination on the rugged south-eastern coast of Tasmania, about 80 kilometres from Hobart. It is a narrow isthmus linking the Tasman Peninsula with Tasmania, and has a fascinating convict history. There are sweeping stretches of beach to the east which is popular with surfers. The coastline is rugged with some striking geographical features, including the Tessellated Pavement, Tasman's Arch and Devil's Kitchen. There is a hotel and backpacker's in the area, as well as a number of holiday homes.
