The Ashland Amtrak Station in Virginia is located on 112 North Railroad Avenue. The tracks there are notable for being lined with cobblestone at the town’s center. This fact makes it quite popular with railway fanatics. The station is now housed in what was once the Richmond, Fredricksburg and Potomac Railroad station built in 1923. That station replaced the original which was built in 1866 and then rebuilt in 1890. Until the 1960’s the station remained segregated as were many stations in the South at that time. Today the waiting room reserved for African Americans is now a museum. There are two platforms and two tracks serving the station. The Northeast Regional line operates there.
