Among the many nations in Southeast Asia, Singapore has one of the most comprehensive pan-Asian focused museums in the world called the Asian Civilisations Museum or ACM. This is the very first museum in the region that has been able to present yet a fully integrated perspective of the pan-Asian civilizations and cultures. It is one of the National Museums of Singapore that is National Heritage Board.
When one of the forefathers of Singapore arrived to settle in Singapore from numerous parts of Asia over 200 years, the many cultures that were brought to Singapore by these different people are far more ancient than any that had previously passed that way. It is because of this aspect of the history of Singapore that has caused the focus of the Asian Civilisations Museums.

The museum is open on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Tuesdays to Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., except on Fridays where the museum extends its closing time to 9 p.m.
