Located in Springfield, Missouri, the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary is a degree-offering Pentecostal seminary endorsed by the Commission on Christian Higher Education. A corollary of the Assemblies of God of the United States, the Commission exclusively endorses AGTS. The Seminary offers advanced degrees, including the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Counseling, Christian Ministries, Intercultural Ministries, and Theological Studies, the Doctor of Ministry, and the Doctor of Missiology. Admissions are low, with generally less than 500 students accepted annually. Established in May of 1972 by General Presbytery, the school officially opened its doors in 1973, and became accredited in 1978. Springfield is the home of popular attractions like the Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Green and Close Memorial Park, the Dickerson Park Zoo, the History Museum for Springfield- Greene County, the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge, and the Ozark Greenways Frisco Highline Trail.
