Founded around 1048 by King Harald III of Norway, Oslo is considered a global cultural, scientific, governmental and economic city that is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe. However, even though the weakened Norwegian krone did at one point make Oslo an affordable city to visit, that is currently not the case. In 2009, Oslo regained its status as one of the most expensive cities to visit.

However it is possible to find affordable hotels in Norway's capital city. The Best Western is one such hotel which is located in the city centre. Offering comfortable rooms with a variety of breakfast foods it is located about 1.2km from the Astrup Fearnley Museum and is close to many young and trendy hotspots. Prices are around $89 per night.
