Atlantic City International Airport (airport code: ACY) is located in Pomona, New Jersey about 9 miles north of Atlantic City. ACY was opened as a naval air station for training purposes in 1942 and continues to serve the joint purpose as military base for the Air National Guard and U.S. Coast Guard and commercial aviation. One terminal exists as of 09/09, as ACY serves two carriers, Spirit Airlines and AirTran Airways. Spirit offers service to Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa. AirTran’s service to Atlanta offers the opportunity for travelers to connect to most major destinations out of ATL. WestJet will begin service to Toronto beginning October 22, 2009. Long-term and short-term parking are available. Many major rental car companies offer service out of ACY, along with taxi, shuttle and limousine service operators.

Many hotels and motels are located in the vicinity of Atlantic City International, including a Country Inn on White Horse Pike or a Comfort Inn, both of which are in the town of Absecon.
