The Auckland Botanic Gardens is found in Manurewa in South Auckland, New Zealand. It is a botanical garden situated in a land area of 64 hectares. The garden is home to over 10,000 species of plants and flowers. The garden was conceived in 1967 by the Auckland Regional Authority and was opened to visitors in February of 1982.

The main mission of the garden is to focus on conservation and preservation of New Zealand species of plants that are in danger of disappearing from the face of the planet. The garden is open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 8.pm. daily from October to mid-march and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the months of mid-March to mid-October. The garden has a library and a café called the Café Miko to provide refreshments for the visitors.

Found in the gardens are the collections of new Zealand Native Plant collections, The native Forest trail, the kauri Grove, The roses, The Shrubs Trial Garden, The Gondwana Arboretum, The Edible Garden, The Palm Garden and The Perennial Garden.
