The Auckland War Memorial Museum, located in Auckland, New Zealand, is one of the most important museums in the country. The museum, also known simply as The Auckland Museum, contains collections that focus on the history of the country, especially the history of the military. The Auckland War Memorial Museum building is also one of the most iconic structures in the country.

The museum was inaugurated in 1929, but it was established in 1852. Throughout its history, the museum has received building extensions and renovations. It has also received several awards and prizes including the New Zealand Property Council’s ACENZ Innovative NZ Gold Award. Collections found in the museum include Pacific Island and Maori artifacts. An exhibition, which covering local and international war, is also presented. Special exhibitions have also been hosted by the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Some of these travelling exhibitions include works by Da Vinci as well as a Vikings exhibition.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum is open Mondays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are closed on Christmas day. The museum’s library services are open Mondays to Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
