The Martin Luther trail which is in Erfurt has a main spot called Augustinerkloster (Augustinian Monastery). In the year 1505 luther converted to an Augustinian monk. Brother Martrin's monastic cell is on exhibit permanently inside the monastery. One can relax and take a nap as well. A conference centre and 51 well equipped guest rooms are in the Augustinian Monastery,rooms are far more comfortable than the ascetic lifestyle of Luther.

After Augustinian monks discovered the Augustinerkloster in the late 13th century, an order was executed according to the St.Augustine Rule and they settled in Erfurt. Between the time 1276 and 1340 there were many church and monastery buildings being constructed. On 17th July, 1505 when order was joined by Martin Luther, the Augustinian monastery was a centre of catholic teachings and a college with a massive library.

The seven sisters of Casteller Ring Community also stay in this monastery ,a Protestant order which is in the Benedictine culture whose members do take vows of obedience, poverty and celibacy.

Many monasteries were left abandoned but Augustinian monastery is not like one of them. This is a proper Lutheran church, which offers daily worship services, guided tours; approx. 60,000-volume magnificient library, a café and 51 guest rooms with a conference center.

All guest rooms are well equipped with modern amenities and as a principle have no television or radio. Single room costs upto 45 euros and a double bedroom is 38 euro per person,inclusive of breakfast.
