Founded in 1967, the Automobile Museum in Eisenach, Germany is a museum dedicated to following Eisenach's car manufacturing history. For those interested in learning about the car history of Eisenach, an exhibition at the museum provides comprehensive information over the past 100 years.

In 1998, the 100th anniversary of car manufacturing in Eisenach was celebrated. To mark the monumental achievement the museum set about preparing an exhibition called the Automobile World Eisenach which still continues today.

Vehicles on display range from the Wartburg which was made in 1899 to a Wartburg 1.3. Not only that, but the museum also displays sports vehicles and special editions while teaching visitors about the human and environmental repercussions of motor vehicles.

The historical town of Eisenach is linked with the Wartburg Castle which was built in 1067. Not only that, but the town is home to over 46,000 residents and is situated on the northern foothills of the Thuringian Forest, a stretch of ancient mountains over 120km long.
