AXA Arena

AXA Arena is a football stadium in Prague, Czech Republic. The first stadium was built in 1921 and was burned down in 1934. The current stadium was constructed in 1969 and experienced a reconstruction in 1994. On this occasion, there were planted only seats and the stadium meats all UEFA standards. The stadium is used for its home games football club AC Sparta Prague and the Czech national football team. It has a capacity of 20 852 spectators. There is even a second ground on which it plays mostly B-team and training take place there.

The stadium has had many names since 1921: Letna Stadion, Toyota Arena (2003) and AXA Arena (2007). Before the start of the 2009/2010 season, the stadium became the new partner insurance company Generali and the stadium went on major changes. Barriers were removed and were installed 2 large screens, which greatly improved the comfort of spectators in Arena. Moreover, the stadium’s name would be change into Generali Arena. There is another plan of reconstruction of the Arena that includes a capacity expansion as the main grandstand (capacity stadium would be increased to around 25 000) and a new umbrella stands.
