Ayr Racecourse is a track located in Ayr, Scotland. It was first open in 1907 and it is a left handed, oval track, thirteen furlongs in circumference, with a straight run-in of half a mile. It replaced an earlier course that was at Racecourse Road. Now, the place also hosts a car boot sale and market every Sunday except when it conflicts with race fixtures.
Ayr Racecourse is a dual purpose track that holds both National Hunt and Flat fixtures. Among the most notable flat races hosted here there are: Ayr Gold Cup, Doonside Cup Stakes, Firth of Clyde Stakes, Harry Rosebery Stakes, Land O'Burns Fillies' Stakes and Scottish Derby (last run in 2005). The most important national races are: Future Champion Novices' Chase, Scottish Champion Hurdle and Scottish Grand National
The Ayr Racecourse is a complex that includes many facilities as: a hotel, conference and banqueting, weddings and Christmas Events.
