Bakersfield Speedway is a high-banked oval clay racing track that measures one-third of a mile around. Hosting many competitions and events throughout the year, it is hard to believe that the track opened as a ¼ mile dirt road oval in 1946. The track, located on the northern fringes of the city, hosts several IMCA and USAC sponsored events. The Budweiser Nationals are held at Bakersfield Speedway in October.

General admission prices run between $5 and $15, and season passes are available at $325 as well (September 2009). Free parking is available in abundance to racing fans, and concessions are sold inside of the establishment. Bakersfield Speedway campsites are also available to those looking for a more economic option.
