Baldknobbers Jamboree Theater is now the site of Branson’s first country and comedy show which dates back to 1959. Then, a group of brothers -- Bob, Bill, Jim and Lyle Mabe -- entertained tourists in downtown Branson and the jamboree had begun. The group took the name from Missouri vigilantes and everyone in the lakes area immediately responded to the country sounds of dobro, bass, washtub basin and banjo. They took the show down 76 Country Blvd in 1968, beginning the tradition that continues today.

These Baldknobbers typically take off Sundays and sometimes Wednesdays in April and March but otherwise will play six days a week throughout the year. The band vacations in February. During the holidays they put on a Christmas show. The show starts at 8 pm and tickets start at $18 for children and $33 for adults, with VIP prices slightly higher in both categories. Tickets can be bought online. Packages are available with the motor inn fees included.
