The Baroque Garden Grobsedlitz is a lovely garden located just few miles north of Dresden, Germany.
The Baroque Großsedlitz is a grandiose work of art of the late Baroque garden. With over 450 potted plants, including 150 bitter oranges, which in the summer months are located in the Lower Upper Ground Floor, wide staircases, fountains, broad sight lines, the accurately trimmed hedges and 64 sandstone sculptures, and decorative vases, visitors experience the ballrooms in the open, the garden invites to enjoy and celebrate. It is designed in the French Provencal style.
The Baroque Großsedlitz has not changed since 1732 in its structure and reported very little loss of material through the centuries. The design implemented here two opposite-lying slopes north of the Alps which are rarely applied. Thus, this wonderful combination represents the French and Italian Baroque. In the enclosure tourists can find more than 60 sculptures, including 24 originals and about 450 potted plants, of which 150 oranges, the largest stock in Germany.
Visitors can see here flowering plants and trees and can take part of one from many outdoor concerts which are held here during summertime.
To get to the Baroque Garden Großsedlitz , tourists should take the train to the Dresden-Neustatdt station and from here they have to continue by bus till the garden.
