The Bartholdi Museum in the metropolitan town of Colmar in north-east France is a museum dedicated to Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) who was a French sculpture.

The medieval city of Colmar is the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi who famously designed and constructed the world famous Statue of Liberty in the 19th century, as a gift from France to the United States, that stands guard in New York harbour.

His other majors works can be found in other parts of the United States and France, such as the Bartholdi Fountain in Washington D.C., The Lion of Belfort, in France, and the Fontaine Bartholdi in Lyons, France.

2004 marked the 100th anniversary of Auguste Bartholdi's death. To make the celebration, the Bartholdi Museum, which is situated in the family's former town house, mounted a special exhibition called Bartholdi the Lion.

The Bartholdi Museum also presents information on the history of the Statue of Liberty, and his other many projects, which include a large statue in Paris, which was dedicated to aviators, postal and railway workers, which was destroyed in World War II.
