The Basilica dei Santi Apostoli, Verona (www.verona.net) dates back to the 12th century, but excavations have found evidence of a burial site beneath the Basilica which dates back to the eighth century. The Church was built in the Romanesque style, but over the years has had many renovations, so that only the Romanesque outer walls remain. However, there are some valuable works of art inside which visitors find interesting, such as the Madonna and Child frieze. There are also burial tombs that date back to the 1500s. It is situated in an open square with the Corso Cavour on the right and close to the Roman Amphitheatre.
