Bateen Dhow Yard is a boat yard located on the West Coast and has a history as one of the major areas for boat making and the best place to see how traditional boat building is done. This is one of the oldest parts of Abu Dhabi. Aside from seeing traditional boat builders in action this is also the best place to see fishing dhows come in with their daily catch of fish and prawns. The shipyard is open every day except Friday because the shipbuilders do not work on Fridays.
