Bath House Cultural Center

Hotels near Bath House Cultural Center, Dallas, United States .

Originally built in 1930 under the design of architect Jon Carsey, the Dallas Bath House Cultural Center is now utilized as a cultural center. It was originally intended to serve as a resting place for locals during the hot summer months, with a sandy beach and concession stands.

In 1958 the Bath House was closed as a result of the lake being needed as a source of municipal drinking water. Then in 1980, the Park and Recreation Department, the East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and the Dallas City Arts Program united to make the house into a neighborhood cultural center.

Located in eastern Dallas, it is today owned and operated by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. It hosts a variety of concerts, exhibits, and festivals throughout the year. In addition to a large gallery, the Bath House Cultural Center boasts an outdoor amphitheater. For those seeking nearby accommodations, consider the Radisson Hotel Dallas East.
