Beacon Hill Park sits atop 200 acres in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. The land became a municipal park in 1882, and it is historically important as the location of many burials of the First Nations Coast Salish people. Among its notable features are a petting zoo, a playground, landscaped gardens, and winding trails. Another park monument is the 127-foot totem pole carved by Mungo Martin, a Kwakwaka'wakw artist, which was installed in the park in 1956.
