Beacon Hill Park

Hotels near Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, Canada .

Beacon Hill Park sits atop 200 acres in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Its prime waterfront location along the Juan de Fuca Strait makes it an ideal spot for picnickers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts and athletes. The land became a municipal park in 1882, and it is historically important as the location of many burials of the First Nations Coast Salish people. Some of the native species of flora and fauna visitors to Beacon Hill Park can expect to see are Garry oak, western redcedar, trillium, Oregon grape, fawn lily, chipmunks, squirrels, Canada geese, blue herons, swans, and turtles. Among its notable features are a petting zoo, a playground, landscaped gardens, and winding trails. Another park monument is the 127-foot totem pole carved by Mungo Martin, a Kwakwaka'wakw artist, which was installed in the park in 1956.

For lodging, consider the Harbour Towers Hotel.
