The Beaufort Golf Course is an 18 hole Kerry Golf Course located 7 miles from Killarney. Often called the hidden gem of Southwest Ireland Golf, it is nesteled at the bottom of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain and part of the famous MacGillycuddy's Reeks.

Set among mature trees a couple of centuries old, rolling meadows, two lakes and the ruins of a 15th century castle, this golf course has been redeveloped by golf architect Tom McKenzie to the highest standards.

This golf course is of parkland type tretching over 7004 yards and is carved from natural terrain.

The Kerry Way is Ireland’s most impressive long-distance footpath taking your along deserted valleys, waterfalls, old forests, cliffs and mountains. You pass through Black Valley which was the last place in Ireland to get electricity, the Muckross Estate with its yew forests and waterfall and the Atlantic coastline of Kerry with its sparkling islands and cliffs.

Muckross House is another must-see. It is a Victorian stately home which draws visitors from all over the world ever since Queen Victoria first visited it in 1861. The gardens are always full of exotic shrubs and trees and lush lawns which go down to the shore of the Muckross Lake.

Don’t miss the Saint Mary’s Cathedral which is said to be the best of Augustus Pugin’s work. Built in Victorian Gothic style, it has long lancet windows, a high interior and a spire as tall as 86.8m. At the time of the famine when construction was stopped it served as a hospital. Just outside, a mass grave of that time is marked by a Sequoia tree.

Ross Castle is another of Kerry’s busiest attractions. A tower house, it has a fortified bawn and curtain walls with circular towers at the corners.

Close by are the four star Kenmare Wellness Resort & Spa from €160 per room per night, The Valley Suites at €59 and Kenmare Holiday Village at €44. Three star hotels include The Kenmare Bay Hotel & Leisure Resort at €59 and the Foley's Townhouse at €75 while Hotel Europe at €190 is a five star.
