The Beethoven Haus was the birthplace of Beethoven, in 1770. It is preserved just as it was in the 1700s and has become a place of pilgrimage for music lovers. It is the only residence of the Beethoven Family in Bonn (www.beethoven-haus-bonn.de). The House is open daily, Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm in November to March, 11am-5pm Sundays, and from April to October, Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm, and Sundays 11am to 6pm.

Bonn is a city dating back to the 11th century, situated in Germany on the banks of the River Rhine. It was the capital of the country between 1949 and 1990, but this title has now moved to Berlin. The city has become a site for international do-operation on the environment and sustainable development. It maintains strong links with the United Nations. Attractions include the historical town hall, built in 1737 in the Rococo style, the Sternter mediaeval gate and walls, and many churches and museums.
