Beijing Foreign Studies University is a university that is located in Weigongcun, Beijing in China. The university occupies 304,553 square meters with a library of 9,997 square meters and a student dormitory area that measures 40,000 square meters. The university is divided by Beijing’s Third Ring Road, a 48-kilometer road that encircles the center of Beijing.

Beijing Foreign Studies University has numerous facilities which include an audiovisual center, tennis courts and dining halls. It is popularly referred to as BFSU in English. The university is said to have evolved and is a direct descendant of the Yan’an School of Foreign Languages which was established by the Communist Party of China during the period of Japanese invasion in the country.

Beijing Foreign Studies University has been the country’s primary base that is offering foreign language training and is affiliated with leaders such as Zhou Enlai, Mao Zedong and with the Party Central Committee.
