Belle Ile-en-Mer Golf is a golf course situated near Quiberon, on the Atlantic coast in the north western part of France. The course can be found on the Sarah Bernhardt estate. It has 14 holes with a par of 56. The length is 4635 meters, and it covers 55 hectares. You have a great view of the ocean from virtually the whole course. Fees in 2009: Green fee for the day 41€ (members) and 46€ (non members). The clubhouse has a bar and restaurant which is open 8h30 to 20h00 during summertime, and from 09h00 to 19h00 in winter. To get there take the N24 from Rennes, or the N165 from Nantes in the direction of Vannes. By train you should take the TGV Express from Paris (Gare de Montparnasse station) and get off at the town of Auray, from where you can get a bus to Quiberon. The town of Quiberon is a well known summer spa resort. The history of the town is closely linked to the sardine industry. There is a 19th century chapel that is worth visiting. The museum of the sea also deserves an hour or two of your time, and in addition Quiberon is home to the Monument to the Battle of Quiberon between the Revolutionaries and Royalists. In the town center are lots of interesting little shops which are open even on Sundays. Since the sardine industry forms an important part of the town's history, you should consider buying some sardines as a souvenir. Cider is also on sale in most of the shops in the main street. Two well known restaurants in town are Bar de la Marine and Le Triskell, which both specialize in sea food at around 30 Euros per plate (2009). There are many small hotels in the area, and you can also get an apartment in a private house for around €50. Résidence Maeva Ker Avel charged €39 in December 2007, but prices have since gone up. The area around Quiberon is quite picturesque in a wild sort of way.
