Bellewstown Golf Club is a new course near the town of Ashbourne in County Meath, Ireland. It's more or less 20km north of Dublin city center. The setting is unbelievably beautiful, with views of rolling green hills, the Mourne Mountains and to the one side the sea. You can even watch cattle grazing while you play a round of golf. It was designed by Nicky and Ollie Ennis. This is a par 72, 18-hole course with a length of slightly more than 6000 meters. It features many water hazards and natural undulations as it runs next to the Bradden river to the north. There are trollies and caddie cars for hire, and a variety of snacks and drinks is also available. If you are a lover of horse racing, Bellewstown Race Course is not far away. Dublin, Drogheda and the North of Ireland is also within easy reach, especially if you have your own transport. Getting to Ashbourne is not easy if you don't have your own car. It lies at the crossroads of the A52 and the A515, and several other main roads, so getting there is easy if you have a car. There is no train service to the town - it was discontinued in the 1960's - and the only bus services are to the nearby towns. There are many restaurants in and around town serving culinary delights from around the world. Near the course you will find the City North Hotel. Whyte's pub Stamullen is open the whole day, and Bellewstown Inn opens after 5pm. Other restaurants: Indian - Ashbourne Tandoori Chinese - The Dragons Nest Fish and chips - Ashbourne Chip Shop There are also many pubs and bars in town. Hotels are plentiful. Two well-known examples are Ashbourne Court Hotel and Ashbourne Marriott with rates from 99 Euros per night.
