Serving as the railway hub for the area surrounding the Village of Bellows Falls and the Town of Rockingham, the Bellows Falls Amtrak Station is situated on the banks of the Connecticut River, 30 miles north of the Massachusetts State Line, and 20 miles east of the Green Mountain National Forest in southern Vermont. The station, Amtrak code BLF, is the seventh-busiest in the State of Vermont, having served over 4,000 railway passengers in 2008, and is located at 54 Depot Street in Bellows Falls. Bellows Falls Amtrak Station is located on the Vermonter Amtrak Route, which stretches from St. Albans, Vermont, near the US – Canada border, all the way south to Penn Station in New York City, and on to Philadelphia and Baltimore before terminating at Union Station in Washington, DC.

The station is within walking distance of historic downtown Bellows Falls, which boasts a survival rate of 96% of its historical buildings, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The station is open from 11:00 A.M. until 1 P.M. and from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. daily, and includes a waiting room, but no ticketing office.
