Located in Pittsburgh's Cultural District, Benedum Center originally opened as a movie theatre in the 1920s, before shifting formats to host concerts, ballet, and theatre performances. A number of famous bands have played the center over the years, including Prince and The Grateful Dead, and it is also the home of The Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and the Pittsburgh Opera.

Lovingly restored through the 1980s, Benedum Center is registered with The National Register of Historic Places and looks just as regal as it did on opening night in the 1920s. Its hours are largely dependent on what shows are scheduled, so it's best to check with the box office or the web site for official operating hours.
