Bergen-Enkheim is a district of the city of Frankfurt am Main in Germany. This eastern district is formed from the
towns of Bergen and Enkheim. Bergen and Enkheim were first mentioned as a common village in the 13th century.

Both the locations were administered together for centuries, but officially became a town only in 1968. In 1977
Bergen-Enkheim was incorporated into the city of Frankfurt.

Bergen-Enkheim is directly linked to the Rhine-Main area's RMV U-Bahn and bus network. Bergen-Enkheim is a place
that has strong connections to literature, the literary prize; ‘The Stadtschreiber von Bergen’ is awarded as part
of the Berger Markt every year.

The old town of Bergen is an historical place; it holds the area’s historical museum in the town hall. The building
has Gothic foundations dating back to the year 1300 – 1350.

There is an indoor pool in Bergen-Enkheim it is located in the middle of the Enkheimer Ried nature reserve. The
facility offers visitors a 25mt long multi-purpose pool with a 1mt diving board and a 3mt diving board including
a pool for those who do not know how to swim. Food and drinks are available in foyer. The pool provides massages,
a solarium, aqua courses and medical foot care for an additional fee.

Another interesting place in Bergen-Enkheim is the ‘Riedbad Bergen-Enkheim (Open-Air Bath)’. This is a heated
open-air-bath located in the middle of the Enkheimer Ried nature reserve. The facility includes a 50mt long pool,
5mt diving tower and a large pool for non-swimmers. Swimming courses, aquajogging and water gymnastics are
available to visitors for an additional fee.
