Berkeley Rose Garden

Hotels near Berkeley Rose Garden, Berkeley, United States .

For a break from running around the Bay Area, there's no better place to stop and smell the roses (literally) than at The Berkeley Rose Garden. Located in the northeastern hills of Berkeley, the garden was completed in the 1930s after a great deal of help from East Bay rose societies, who volunteered a great deal of time to get the 3,000 rose bushes planted. Over 250 different kinds of roses can be seen at The Berkeley Rose Garden.

The Berkeley Rose Garden, in addition to the extensive and breath-taking collection of roses, also has a terraced amphitheater and some of the best views of The Golden Gate Bridge and The Bay from Berkeley. The almost four acres of land are best seen in May, when flower-lovers from around the world try to see the garden in bloom, an incredible sight for flower buffs and regular folks alike.

The park is open daily from dawn until evening falls. Sometimes special events are scheduled, like the annual Mother's Day Rose Day Celebration, as well as an entire week celebrating roses called Rose Week. A number of hotels are a short walk away, including Nash Hotel, Hotel Shattuck Plaza, and Hotel Durant.
