Located in the heart of Greensboro, North Carolina, the Bicentennial Garden mixes trees, flowers and man-made structures to create an oasis of tranquility that also pays homage to the historical heritage of the site. Created in honor of the nation´s bicentennial, the Garden consists of seven and a half acres of formal gardens. There are more than 30,000 plants, including 105 varieties of daylilies, a fragrance garden for the blind and a wedding gazebo. There is also a variety of sculptures and a man-made creek that rambles through the flora. Across the street from the garden is the Bog Garden, which features water plants and wildlife.

Next to the Garden you will find the David Caldwell Historic Park, which houses the original academy for young men operated by the Reverend Dr. David Caldwell (1725-1824) a Presbyterian minister and a self-trained physician. The Academy produced five state governors and today features exhibits and guided tours. The Bicentennial Garden is open every day of the year during daylight hours and is free. Nearby hotels include the Best Western Windsor Suites, Sheraton Hotel Greensboro, and the Wingate by Wyndham.
