Bicentenniel Park lies upon 30 acres of beautiful waterfront property in the heart of downtown Miami. Situated between I-395, the American Airlines Arena, Biscayne Bay and Boulevard, Metromover, the Miami Herald headquarters, and Bayside Marketplace, the park plays host to numerous music festivals, conventions, and concerts. One of the most well-known festivals held at the park is the Ultra Music Festival, held over two days. The park was first opened in 1976, and got its name as a celebration of the bicentennial of the United States, which occurred in that year. It is the sister park of the nearby Bayfront Park. With the upcoming addition of two museums, the Miami Science Museum and the Miami Art Museum, the park will undergo a name change, to be called the “Museum Park.” The park currently holds a capacity of 45,000 people.
