Long Beach has no shortage of great outdoor spaces for travelers and locals alike to use at all hours of the day. One of the most popular parks, right on the beach, is Bixby Park. In addition to some of the best beach activities, including volleyball courts and an area for picnicking and barbecuing, the park also has a number of exciting dry land activities that don't involve sand.

Bixby Park is known for its numerous facilities that provide services for all ages. There's a skate park that draws a younger crowd eager to practice their latest tricks, a community center which offers everything from senior fitness classes to after-school activities, and also a sports field.

Bixby Park is open Monday through Friday from ten in the morning until four in the afternoon, and on Saturdays from noon until four in the afternoon. Special extended hours occur when events are planned at the bandshell, which also has a stage.
