The Bobby Dodd Stadium is the home of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and the stadium is physically located on the eastern stretch of the Georgia Tech academic campus. Situated in the midtown section of Atlanta, the stadium is easily accessible from Interstates 75 and 85, and it offers a unique and panoramic view of both downtown and midtown Atlanta.

Historically the field was known as Grant Field, and is now known in full as the Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. It has been used to play college football all the way since 1905, with its first grandstands put in place by students during 1913. It is the site with the longest trajectory of continuous use for on-campus college football in all of Georgia and all of the US southeast.

Since 2001, the stadium has undergone a series of renovations and improvement projects, and in the summer of 2009 it recently had a few smaller details touched up: the sound system was improved, the scoreboard was widened, and ribbon boards were also put in place.
As the campus (and hence the stadium) are well located inside Atlanta, there are many hotels in the surrounding area such as the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel Downtown, the Hampton Inn - GA Tech, and the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.
