The Bodo Airport is situated on the southern side of Bodo in north-west Norway.

Among the main attractions of Bodo is the Norsk Luftartsmuseum which has a great collection of aircraft used by the Royal Norwegian Air Force during the early last century. It also has some German and British wartime aircrafts that were restored.

Don't miss Geitvågen, which is said to be of the best sandy beaches in the region. On midsummer nights, it is one of the hottest places in Bodø.

Near the Bodø Town Hall you have the Cathedral with lovely stained glass by Aagen Storstein. You must also see the old stone church of Bodin which has a Baroque altarpiece from the seventeeth century. Louis-Philippe who was the Duke of Orleans and later took over as the king of France from 1830 to 1848 broke journey in the pastor’s house on his way to the North Cape.

To the south of the Bodø Cathedral you have the Nordland County Museum locally known as Nordlandfylkesmuseum; this is devoted to fisheries, agriculture and local crafts besides medieval and prehistoric stuff.

Within a couple of miles from the airport you have the three star hotels of Rica Hotel Bodo and Central Hotel Bodo. If it’s a four star hotel you are looking for try the Radisson SAS Bodo.
