The Bodrum Airport (or Milas-Bodrum Airport as it is also known) is situated on Turkey’s south west coast about 30km to the north east of Bodrum.

The Milas-Bodrum airport has a couple of terminals which are separated by a distance of nearly a km by road. It has a Domestic Terminal as well as an International Terminal which was built at the close of the last century.

There is a shuttle bus service that links the airport to the city centre of Bodrum and a few other destinations. You can also take a taxi and a list of fares to the local towns is normally available on a board in the terminal. A taxi to the centre of Bodrum could cost you something like forty Lira.

The Bodrum airport has several shops, a currency exchange facility and a restaurant.
The main occupations of the people of Bodrum are fishing, yachting and tourism. As you move inwards away from the coast, you will find agricultural land and marble quarries.

The very old city of Halicarnassus used to be in this region and its mausoleum then was once among the seven wonders of the world. But unfortunately it was ruined in the Middle Ages and the town of Bodrum was built. From being just a trading port it has grown into one of the best rivieras Turkey has.
